Susan H. Soto received her Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York, College at Fredonia, in 1990. In 1999, Ms. Soto received a Master of Education degree from the University of Houston. She received her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the South Texas College of Law in 2010. Prior to being licensed to practice law, Ms. Soto worked as a teacher and administrator in Texas public schools.

Ms. Soto is licensed by the Supreme Court of Texas and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. She has been specially admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas, as well. Her trial experience includes bench and jury trials in state and federal courts. Ms. Soto has handled appeals from county courts at law to the Ninth Court of Appeals (Texas) to the Texas Commissioner of Education. Several of her school law cases have been discussed at professional conferences. Prior to joining Coane and Associates, Mrs. Soto practiced school law in private practice and then worked for the fourth largest legal aid organization in the United States.

Her professional achievements include: Elected Fellow - The American Bar Foundation, Rising Star Honoree - SuperLawyers, Honoree - Houstonia magazine's Top Lawyers list, and Honoree - H Texas magazine's Houston's Top Lawyers list. Ms. Soto has authored two articles for professional journals and her professional memberships have included the American Bar Association, the Houston Bar Association, the Fort Bend County Bar Association and the Brazoria County Bar Association. She is a popular speaker at continuing education legal seminars and conferences.

Married for over a decade, Mrs. Soto is very active in her community. She is a member of Lions Clubs International and serves on the board of directors for her neighborhood's homeowners' association. In 2022, Ms. Soto was appointed to the City of Missouri City's inaugural Ethics Commission. She enjoys travel and movies and is an ardent supporter of local and small businesses.

Susan Soto is a lawyer licensed by the State Bar of Texas. She is not a member of the Florida Bar, nor is she licensed to practice law in Florida.
