ATTORNEYS
Bruce A. Coane received a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honors from Penn State University in 1979. He received his Juris Doctor Degree in Law from the University of Houston in 1981. He is the founder and past president of the National Employment Lawyers Association-Houston Chapter and he is Board Certified in Immigration and Nationality Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is the Past-President of the American Immigration Lawyers Association-Texas, New Mexico & Oklahoma Chapter. His memberships have included being a member of the State Bar of Texas Labor and Employment Law section and the State Bar of Texas School Law section.
Mr. Coane is licensed by the Supreme Court of Texas and has been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United State Court of Appeals in Chicago, New Orleans, Philadelphia and San Francisco, and by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. He has been specially admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts in Dallas, Abilene, Lufkin, Baton Rouge and Chicago. His professional activities and memberships have included the American Bar Association, American Immigration Lawyers Association, Houston Bar Association, Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts, and the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit.
His trial experience includes jury trials in both state and federal court. He has handled all types of administrative appeals and has also represented clients before the United States Supreme Court and the Supreme Court of Texas. Many of his cases have been published in legal reference books and discussed in legal and professional journals.
Mr. Coane is a frequent speaker at continuing education seminars for attorneys, as well as seminars and meetings for business groups, schools and community organizations. He has also appeared on various TV and radio talk shows, and he is the author of many published papers on various legal topics. Mr. Coane has six children and he enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball, and attending concerts, theater and sporting events.
Mr. Coane is Board Certified in Immigration and Nationality Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization


Vi Le Nguyen received a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Texas
at Austin. Ms. Nguyen received a Juris Doctor Degree from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University. While in law school, she served as President of the Asian Pacific American Law
Students Association. She is licensed to practice law by the Texas Supreme Court and is currently a member of the Asian American Bar Association of Houston and Austin. Ms. Nguyen enjoys reading, traveling
and spending time with family.


Kathryn "Katie" E. Shepherd received a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Special Honors in History from
the University of Texas at Austin and received a Juris Doctor Degree from St. John's University School of Law in New York. She is licensed by the Appellate Division of New York. During law school,
Ms. Shepherd was the founder and president of Amnesty International and was a student attorney in the Immigration and Refugee Rights Clinic at St. John's University School of Law. While in New York, she
interned at the Executive Office of Immigration Review at the U.S. Department of Justice. Before joining Coane and Associates, she gained valuable experience in a large immigration firm in San Antonio
and volunteered with ProBAR, assisting asylum-seekers in detention on the border with Mexico. Ms. Shepherd is particularly passionate about asylum law, and has worked on numerous winning asylum cases.
She spends her free time enjoying the outdoors, whether on foot or bike, going to concerts, and spending time with family and friends.


Lauren Schlossberg received a Bachelor of Arts
Degree with High Honors in Public Relations from the University of Florida and
received a Juris Doctor Degree from Nova Southeastern University School of Law.
She is licensed to practice in the State of Florida. During law school, Ms.
Schlossberg was the president of Trial Team and she competed nationally in trial
competitions. Ms. Schlossberg is a member of the Order of the Barristers, a
national litigation honorary organization. Additionally, Ms. Schlossberg worked
as a certified legal intern in the 17th Judicial Circuit's State
Attorney's office, where she had the opportunity to argue various motions and
try a number of cases, and she sat on the Academic discipline board at Nova,
investigating the impropriety of students. Ms. Schlossberg enjoys baking,
watching sports, playing with her dogs, and spending time
with family and friends.
Yesero Okello received a Bachelor’s
degree in Political Science from Texas Tech University. Mr. Okello received a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Houston Law Center.
While in law school, Mr. Okello wrote a chapter on the habeas corpus system for a book entitled American Justice in the Age of Innocence that
was presented to Texas Senator Rodney Ellis to assist in reforms. He is licensed to practice law by the Texas Supreme Court. Mr. Okello enjoys reading,
traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
